LOT 35
HENDRIK VAN KEPPEL & TAYLOR
COUCH & COCKTAIL TABLE
Available price: $5,000
This is a rare opportunity to acquire furniture by one of the most important and influential Los Angeles design partnerships of the 20th century. For a modest outlay the two sets would complete the lounge or sitting room of any mid-century architect designed home. Not only that, but the suite also comes with impeccable provenance. This set is from the house of the founders of Architectural Pottery, Max and Rita Lawrence, who contributed to the way of living in Los Angeles in the 1950s with the concept of indoor-outdoor living.

LOT 203
CHARLES & RAY EAMES
TANDEM SLING SEATING UNIT

LOT 271
CHARLES & RAY EAMES
STORAGE UNIT
Available price: $7,500
This is the first auction in the history of Los Angeles Modern Auctions that we haven’t sold any works by Charles & Ray Eames. Charles & Ray were undoubtedly the most important Los Angeles designers and architects of the 20th century and arguably the most influential since the Bauhaus movement. Their influence extended beyond the boundaries of California to the nation as a whole and beyond. They were visionaries who changed the modern landscape, the we way we live and interact. I feel that in some ways their genius has been taken for granted in recent years, supplanted by the lure of their European contemporaries.
