The style and fashion world has lost an icon with the passing yesterday of Vidal Sassoon. He will be widely remembered as an innovator, a canny businessman, and a philanthropist. Here at LAMA, we remember him as an intensely thoughtful and caring friend.  Vidal had a sophisticated sense of connoisseurship but also a sweet, almost child-like curiosity to learn about new discoveries. He shared his insight and observations in a quiet and concise manner. His gracious demeanor seemed effortless and innate, but he would readily admit to working with resolve to overcome his London East End accent and mannerisms. He inspired us to succeed and taught us that businessmen can also be gentlemen.
